Deep neural attention-based model for the evaluation of italian sentences complexity

In this paper, the Automatic Text Complexity Evaluation problem is modeled as a binary classification task tackled by a Neural Network based system. It exploits Recurrent Neural Units and the Attention mechanism to measure the complexity of sentences written in the Italian language. An accurate test phase has been carried out, and the system has been compared with state-of-art tools that tackle the same problem. The computed performances proof the model suitability to evaluate sentence complexity improving the results achieved by other state-of-the-art systems.
A Lexicon-based Approach for Sentiment Classification of Amazon Books Reviews in Italian Language

We present a system aimed at the automatic classification of the sentiment orientation expressed into book reviews written in Italian language. The system we have developed is found on a lexicon-based approach and uses NLP techniques in order to take into account the linguistic relation between terms in the analyzed texts. The classification of a review is based on the average sentiment strenght of its sentences, while the classification of each sentence is obtained through a parsing process inspecting, for each term, a window of previous items to detect particular combinations of elements giving inversions or variations of polarity. A system for sign language sentence recognition based on common sense context

The paper proposes a complete framework for sign language recognition that integrates common sense in order to deal with sentences. The proposed system is based on a cognitive architecture allows modeling and managing the knowledge of the recognition process in a simple and robust way. The final abstraction level of this architecture introduces the semantic context and the analysis of the correctness of a sentence given a sequence of recognized signs. Experimentations are presented using the Italian sign language (LIS), and shows that the system maintains the recognition rate high when set of sign grows, correcting erroneous recognized single sign using the context

Este trabajo pretende estudiar el papel de la lengua italiana en la mojiganga "Los niños de la rollona y lo que pasa en las calles". Primero, se fija su fecha de composición y su autoría, ya que hasta hoy se ha atribuido la pieza a un Simón Aguado homónimo del verdadero autor, fechando por tanto erróneamente la mojiganga. En segundo lugar, se rastrean los orígenes, las funciones y los objetivos del italiano propuesto por el dramaturgo desde el punto de vista fonético, morfológico, léxico y sintáctico para ver hasta qué punto Aguado traduce, imita, reelabora o parodia este idioma.

I intend to analyze a peculiar kind of reciprocal construction, in which the natural symmetry of the complex event is split due both to the defocusing of one participant (O), coded as a comitative, and the foregrounding of the other one (A), coded as a subject controlling the agreement with the verb. A Layered Architecture for Sentiment Classification of Products Reviews in Italian Language

The paper illustrates a system for the automatic classification of the sentiment orientation expressed into reviews written in Italian language. A proper stratification of linguistic resources is adopted in order to solve the lacking of an opinion lexicon specifically suited for the Italian language. Experiments show that the proposed system can be applied to a wide range of domains.
A syntactic analysis of the subject clitic a in the Friulian variety of Campone

This article presents a syntactic analysis of the third person subject clitic a in Camponese, a heretofore unstudied Friulian variety. Following Poletto's (2000) map of subject clitics, we argue that it bears [+third person] features, and is, in fact, the spell-out of the functional head Subj°, located in the highest projection of TP (following Rizzi & Shlonsky 2007).
